Inflation Guy Inaugural Podcast Published

I wrote recently about the new (free!) Inflation Guy app, which you can get in your app store.

Now, there’s also a podcast for the Inflation Guy. It is called “Cents and Sensibility: The Inflation Guy Podcast,” and you can get it on PodBean here.

I’ve got a long list of topics, but I am always adding more. Follow, and let me know if you have a request/idea for a topic!

Will this be appearing in the ios Podcast app? That’s the one I use, and I’d definitely listen in.

Yes – I’ve submitted it to be indexed. They say it typically takes a few days.

Seems curious that the Fed focus is on jobs taken rather than job openings created. Fed toolkit is limited. If government policy beyond Fed’s control (covid panics and lockdowns, paying bonuses to stay unemployed) is affecting job market. why choose such a metric? Fed can help create demand for workers. Can’t make them take the jobs no matter how hot the Fed tries to heat up economy. Certainly Fed can focus on number of job openings and claim adherence to employment half of dual mandate.

Excellent point! Really great point I haven’t heard anywhere else. You might hear me adopt that point in the future!
